Keeping Up With School Events
Business
1. What are your hours of operation?
We are open from 7am - 6pm Monday through Friday.
2. When can my child start the program?
Once you pay your registration fee, fill out your application, and provide your child's immuziation record, birth certificate, and physical, your child may start the program.
3. Does my child have to be potty trained?
No, our staff will assist your child with potty training. You must provide pull-ups with velcro sides and wipes.
4. Is this a day care?
No, we're a literacy based program.
5. Why does my child need a Steppin Out On Faith shirt?
The shirts are worn every friday, which is school spirit day. The shirts are MANDATORY on field trips; they help us to distinguish our students from other schools.
6. I kept my child home because of the snow, do I have to pay for today?
Unless the center is closed, you are responsible for paying for that day. You may call in your payment using a credit card by phone if you choose not to come in and pay in person.
7. Do you offer a summer camp?
Yes. Summer camp begins immediately following the end of school year until the beginning of the new school year. The hours are Monday - Friday from 7 a.m.-6 p.m.
8. Do you have any extracurricular activities offered at the program?
Yes. We offer tumble bus every Wednesday and Ballet class every Friday.
Breakfast, Lunch, and Snack
1. Can my child bring sweets to school?
No, we have a "no sweets" lunch rule. Sweets are only permitted on birthdays or special occasions
2. Is hot lunch available?
Hot lunch is available Monday-Friday
3. What time is breakfast over?
Breakfast is over at 8:30 am.
4. Do I have to pack an extra snack for my child?
Two snacks will be provided during the day.
Safety
1. Is it ok if I send a friend to pick up my child?
Only if you have them listed on your child's emergency form. Upon first visit, we will check their id and verify that they are on your child's form. You may add additional people to the form if need be.
2. Is the building secure?
Yes, our door remains locked until a staff member verifies the identification of the person wishing to enter the building.
3. What happens if my child becomes ill at school?
If your child becomes sick we will notify you by phone. If he/she is vomiting, has a fever, or is experiencing diarrhea they must be picked up from school.
4. My child had ringworm/pink eye/strep throat or another contagious illness. When can he return to school?
You must bring a doctor's note stating why our child was ill and that they are no longer contagious and may return to school.
5. My child has a cold, can I send medicine to be given to them?
Yes, simply fill out a medication form in our office.
Keeping Up With School Events
1. How do I know about upcoming events?
A monthly newsletter is sent home as well as a calender detailing all of the school events. There are also notices on the door and reminder notes are sent home as events/programs approach.
2. How often do you guys take field trips?
During the school year we take a field trip once a month. During our summer program we take a field trip every other Friday.
